Using Birth Partner
Terms of Use
Educational support only
Birth Partner provides general educational information, organizational tools, timers, and partner-support prompts. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or an emergency service. It does not replace a physician, midwife, nurse, doula, pediatrician, emergency dispatcher, or your care plan.
Do not rely on the app for clinical decisions
Pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care can change quickly. Timers, patterns, reminders, and reference content may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. Contact your provider whenever you are worried, symptoms change, or your provider instructed you to call. You are responsible for seeking professional care.
Accounts and family access
You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting access to your device and account, and keeping family invite codes private. Share information only with people you trust. You may not attempt to access another person's account or family without permission.
Acceptable use
You may use Birth Partner for personal, lawful purposes. You may not interfere with the service, reverse engineer protected portions of it except where law permits, upload malicious material, abuse authentication or invite systems, or use the service to violate another person's rights.
Availability and updates
We may improve, correct, suspend, or discontinue features. The app may download compatible JavaScript and asset updates through Expo after launch. Native-code changes require an App Store or Google Play update. Keep your device and app reasonably current.
Third-party services
Authentication, cloud synchronization, app distribution, and updates may depend on Supabase, Apple, Google, Expo, and app stores. Their separate terms and policies apply to their services.
Intellectual property
Birth Partner's software, design, original text, graphics, trademarks, and other materials are owned by Birth Partner or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These terms grant a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the service.
Disclaimers and limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Birth Partner is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or address misuse. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination will remain in effect.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Continued use after the effective date of revised terms means you accept them. Questions can be sent to hello@mybirthpartner.com.
